​Class Dojo is an interactive point system that allows for the regular monitoring and communication of student behavior. Parents who download the Class Dojo app will be receiving daily updates of how their child performed during the school day. Class Dojo monitors both positive and negative behaviors, and I will be using the postive behaviors to help determine the Student of the Week, Student of the Month, and those who will be receiving Treasure Chest. All parents should receive an email invite on Sunday, August 12, explaining how to download and install the Class Dojo app.

During the first week of class  we  will be viewing the 2018 National Geographic Bee and the 2018 Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee. While these viewings are light and interesting, it is with a more intentional purpose that I plan to view these programs during the early part of the year. I am looking for a few students who would like to begin training for participation in either Bee. Training is a grueling and intensive process, and there is no guarantee that the hard work put in will pay off in the immediacy. However, parents and students are asked to consider the possibilities of signing up for training for one or both of the Bees. Who knows, for if God be for us, then anything is within reach.
